I went to walk the course this morning and unfortunately the recent very wet weather has made the current racecourse for the Household Cavalry Ride and Diana of The Chase Cup untenable. The ground has worsened significantly over the last two days to the point where the majority of jumps have standing water in front and behind them. The HHC and Quorn Hunt have done the MOST fantastic job building the course – it is very sad that the ground is simply not up to it. This has meant there is no other option but to postpone. The Cavalry Ride will try and run on 15th February and we will wait to run The DOC until March when the ground should be good. We are set on March 23rd (Sunday).
We have had some fantastic prizes kindly donated by Ralph Lauren, Patey Hats, Lock and Co, The Vintage Tack Shop, Horace Batten and The Hunting Stock Market –
We will also have a fantastic apres race party in The Old Hall for jockeys an their guests – Champagne kindly sponsored by AGL and Canapes by Smith and Williamson.
SO the show will go on!!

The momentum of the event has been amazing and BBC 2 are very keen to follow the progression (training) and race. So the delayed date also works in their favour.
I do hope you will all being able to make this new date.
